Enerveo is one of the largest contracting businesses in the UK, offering a broad scope of services including mechanical, electrical, high voltage, electrical vehicle (EV) infrastructure installation, test and inspection services, as well as street lighting.

Job Title: Senior Authorised Person (up to 11 kV)

Base Location: Field based with team hub located in Southampton, working in the Hampshire / Wiltshire / Sussex regions 

Base salary: up to £63k, depending on experience for a 37 hour week plus an additional 10% annual retention bonus, based on base salary and paid each full year. Regular additional payments for call out rota cover and overtime rates for all works out of normal working hours. Once holding ENERVEO authorisations a 45 hour week is offered with a salary up to 77k

In addition to the salary a suitable company vehicle will be provided.

Working Pattern:  Permanent | Full Time

Expectation to support the team cover a call out rota (additional pay) on a 1 in 4 weekly basis.

What will I be doing in this role?

Firstly, and importantly, you will be joining a welcoming and supportive team of experienced Fitters, Jointers, Project Managers, and fellow SAP’s who are passionate about supporting each other, Enerveo and our customers. The team works on an exciting range of HV projects, predominantly with private network customers including Hospitals, supermarkets, petro chemical, educational facilities, docks and a variety of business and organisations across the region.

We are currently recruiting a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to carry out LV & HV switching, isolation, earthing, SFT, identification of the point of work, and issue of safety documentation duties and small project management on construction and asset replacement projects on private networks.

You will be responsible for all aspects of operational duties, creating switching schedules and methods of work. You will control & monitor all Electrical construction and maintenance work on HV/LV networks up to 11kv.

Ensuring the power distribution is maintained, you will be the delegated lead electrical person in cases of emergency and power restoration.

Some of your role will involve:

  • Plan outages and produce switching programmes and liaise with System Control.
  • Make dead, isolate and earth high voltage electrical networks.
  • Identify and release apparatus to be worked on by issue of Safety Documents and Permits to Work, SFT.
  • Carry out high voltage testing and fault location
  • Manage and supervise Jointer and Fitter teams.

Safety will always be your priority in all that you do.

 What do I need to be successful in the role?

  • You’ll be an experienced SAP on HV systems, ideally with DNO Authorisation to 11kV with Sanction for Test.
  • Authorised as a 11kV SAP able to work on 11kV networks. (33Kv training will be available if required)
  • Good knowledge of a wide range of High Voltage plant and equipment
  • Previous experience of working on HV DNO / private networks
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of High Voltage Protection Relays, Telecontrol Systems, wiring and schematic diagrams.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment
  • A proven track record in the electrical contracting industry either as an Engineer or as a Contracts Supervisor with supervisory experience in a practical environment.
  • A full UK driving Licence is also essential.
