Job Title: Electrical Estimator
Base Location: Bristol, Swindon, Plymouth / Hybrid between office and home
Salary: Up to £53,000 + Car/Car Allowance, Performance related bonus plus a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and well-being.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time
What will I be doing in this role?
In this role, you'll develop accurate estimates for design and build projects, including large and more complex major schemes ensuring that all client requirements and technical issues are fully considered. You'll also hold responsibility for option appraisals and identifying and applying alternative solutions to enhance bid profitability and the delivery of value engineering.
You'll prioritise and manage your own workload, maintain accurate records of tenders submitted while interfacing with the Estimating Manager and our Work Winning / Procurement Operations teams. This will be completed with the objective of ensuring accuracy, best value and competitiveness of estimate and accommodation of the supply chain critical path.
Your role will involve;
- Providing accurate take offs and maintaining a high level of competency when preparing prime cost estimates.
- Developing Value Engineering Proposals and providing innovation where applicable.
- Competently using Trimble Contract Master for preparing estimates.
- Managing client and key stakeholder requests in a professional and timely manner.
What do I need to be successful in the role?
We are looking for you to bring your ability to prepare Schedule of Rates, "take off" quantities from drawings or bill of quantities, and have previous experience within an electrical contracting environment.
You must be highly motivated and accurate, as attention to detail is vital, as is excellent numarcy and IT skills.
In addition you’ll possess a proven track record for securing works within the marketplace having a technical knowledge of and covering a broad scope of works inclusive of:
- Building services
- Knowledge of various Electrical installations ranging from 230V - 11kV
- Main switchgear and sub distribution
- LV Cable installation and jointing works.
- Specialist subcontractors – broad understanding of requirements for projects and accurate vetting of quotations from supply chain partners.
- Staff Management and Delivery team requirements on site.
- Testing & Commissioning
Due to the level of mobility required in this role, a full UK driving license is essential.
