Role Overview:

We are seeking a talented E&I Estimator to join our Process Industries team. This key role involves developing detailed cost estimates and managing bids for design and build projects, including large and complex schemes. You'll be instrumental in ensuring all client requirements and technical considerations are accurately addressed while driving value engineering and bid profitability.

This is a unique opportunity to work with some of the largest blue-chip clients on some of the most exciting and high-profile projects in the UK. You'll have the chance to build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, playing a critical role in driving the delivery of the UK’s critical infrastructure.

What will I be doing in this role?

  • Cost Estimation: Deliver accurate take-offs and prime cost estimates using software tools like Trimble Contract Master or our bespoke systems. Your contributions will play a key role in ensuring quality and reliability.
  • Bid Management: Lead the preparation and submission of bids with a focus on exceeding client expectations. Your estimates will reflect a deep understanding of project specifications, ensuring competitiveness and strategic alignment.
  • Value-Driven Engineering: Constantly seek out and implement innovative, cost-effective solutions that enhance bid profitability and project value, demonstrating a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships with clients, project managers, and procurement teams. Your clear, concise communication will ensure all stakeholders are aligned and informed, facilitating smooth project execution.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of tenders, ensuring all data is precise, organised, and readily accessible for analysis and review.
  • Independent Work: Manage multiple, concurrent projects independently, demonstrating exceptional time management and the ability to prioritise effectively. You will be a self-starter who thrives under pressure.

What do I need to be successful in the role?

  • Analytical Skills: Your analytical skills will allow you to quickly identify cost-saving opportunities and drive value engineering initiatives that set our bids apart.
  • Problem-Solving: You will anticipate challenges and proactively develop solutions, showcasing your ability to remain calm, focused, and solution-oriented in high-pressure situations.
  • Attention to Detail: You will exhibit attention to detail, ensuring all estimates are thorough, accurate, and of the highest quality, even when working to tight deadlines.
  • Innovative Mindset: You will embrace new technologies and industry trends, using them to enhance your work and stay ahead in a competitive market.
  • Communication: Your ability to distil complex information into actionable insights and communicate them effectively will be key to aligning project goals with client needs.
  • Adaptability: You will demonstrate resilience in the face of challenges by adapting to changing project requirements and driving projects forward with tenacity and determination.

Due to the level of mobility required in this role, a full UK driving license is essential.
